Memorial services for Glenn W. Birks, 62, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Weaver Mortuary in Beaumont. He died Friday of heart attack at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in Banning.

Mr. Birks, who was born in Logan, Iowa, lived in Banning seven years. He was a purchasing manager for GTE in Montclair for 35 years before he retired in 1988. He enjoyed playing softball for the Sun Lakes Softball team and golfing.
Mr. Burks is survived by his wife, Joann; a daughter, Stacy Traylor of San Jose; a step-daughter, Suzanne Peters of Los Osos; a son, Jeffrey of San Jose; two step-sons, Mark Carpenter of Rancho Cucamonga and Rick Carpenter of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; two grandchildren; two brothers, Duane of Sun City, Ariz., and Carl of Berthoud, Colo; and a sister, Linda Wiltfong of Lancaster
