Andrew Bires, 86, of Penn Hills died Tuesday (Dec. 11, 2001) in his home.
He was born July 3, 1915, in Rankin.
Mr. Bires was a burner for U.S. Steel before retiring.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Plum.
Survivors include a son, James Bires of Lower Burrell; a daughter, Mary Ann Krul at home; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Edward Bires of Moon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Cherep Bires; his parents, Andrew Sr. and Anna Tinnick Bires; two brothers, Albert and John Bires; and a sister, Mary Pido.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in MAURICE L. KNEE, FUNERAL HOME, Plum.
Christian Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. John the Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Penn Hills.
