Services for A.C. Bridwell, 87, of Littlefield will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church in Littlefield with the Revs. A.J. Kennemer, Gary Bivins and R.B. Hall officiating.
Burial will follow in Littlefield Memorial Park under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.
He died Sunday, March 3, 2002.
He was born June 17, 1914, in Dawson County. He married Naomi Redwine on June 3, 1939, in Paducah. She died Nov. 3, 2000. He co-owned and operated Littlefield Butane with Buck Oldham from 1949 until 1991. He and a partner built the Crescent Park Motel in Littlefield, and he was the former owner of Lubbock Wrecking.
In the 1950s, he won the Texas State Champion Trap Shoot. He played baseball for the Lubbock Hubbards and was a member and deacon at Littlefield First Baptist Church.
He also was preceded in death by a grandson.
Survivors include a son, Jay of Austin; two daughters, Missy Cunningham of Abernathy and Kim Longino of Littlefield; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
Viewing will be held from noon today to noon Tuesday at Hammons Funeral Home in Littlefield.
The family will receive friends following services at the church.
