Mable Parker Bird, age 78, passed away on February 5, 2003. As she always said, "I have had a long and wonderful life."

It started when she was born in Mountain View, Alberta, Canada, on October 27, 1924, to James Earl Parker and Mabel Bankhead. She married Robert H. Bird in the Salt Lake Temple on April 24, 1946; they had three children.

She loved and was dedicated to her family. She was an adventuresome soul who loved to travel and experience life. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions including Primary president and Relief Society president; she particularly enjoyed working with the youth groups of the Liberty Park Ward. She and her husband served a mission in New Zealand. She worked at the Utah Supreme Court and retired from there in 1989.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, sons, Jim (Carolyn) and Ralph (Beth), daughter, Billie, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, sister, Doone (Don) Holladay. Preceded in death by her parents, brother Ralph and sister Rhe.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 10, 2003, at 12 noon at the Liberty Park Ward, 450 East Harvard. Friends may call Sunday, February 9, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and at the ward one hour prior to the funeral services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
