Obituary: Pioneer West Texas Succumbs To Pneumonia, Tuesday Night
B. L. Binyon, aged 73, died at 10 o'clock Tuesday evening at the family residence here after a brief illness. Death came as a result of complications of pneumonia, which the deceased had been suffering for only a very few days.
Becoming ill Saturday morning, Mr. Binyon gradually became weaker through Sunday and Monday.
Born in Anderson County, December 30, 1861, the deceased spent most of his life in his native state. He married Miss Emma Peach Jackson on February 15, 1888, and a short time afterward the couple moved to West Texas to make their home. They had formerly lived at Ozona and Sonora, and later moved to Tom Green County,
Surviving the deceased are three sons, Lee and Earl Binyon of Mertzon and Willis of this city, and seven daughters, Mrs. Ora Teagarden and Mrs. Will Clendenen of Rankin, Mrs. R. T. Movley of Midland, Mrs. Pat Kelly of Fort Worth, Mrsy Ruby Van Dyke and Mrs Charles Bolin of San Angelo and Mrs. Louis Roueche of Sonora, all of whom were present during the illness of their father.
Affiliated during his lifetime with the Methodist Church, Mr. Binyon was a member of the Methodist Church of this city. The Rev. T. K. Anderson, local pastor, officiated at the simple ceremonies held Wednesday morning after which the body was shipped to San Angelo for burial.
Pall bearers at the burial services included H. G. Secrest, Joe Conger, Walter Clendenen, Tom Richardson, Will Nix and C. G. Taylor, all of this city.
