William R. Bingaman, 90,
Former auto-business owner; avid Phillies fan

William R. Bingaman, 90, of Primos, an auto business owner, died Oct. 7 at Riddle Hospital.
Born in West Milton, he was raised in New Columbia. He had been a resident of Delaware County since the 1940s.
He worked at Sun Shipbuilding Co. in Chester and the Philadelphia Navy Yard during World War II.
Mr. Bingaman was co-owner of Bingaman Brothers Auto Service in Folcroft until the early 1950s. He retired from A&P Tea Co. in 1982.
He was a member and camp cook of Tale's End Rod and Gun Club for more than 50 years and was a member and past master and trustee of Richard Lodge No. 230 F&AM in Philadelphia. He was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Folcroft for more than 60 years.
He enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, woodworking, fishing and being with family and friends. Mr. Bingaman also organized bus tours for more than 10 years and was an avid Phillies fan.
Before his wife of 63 years died, he enjoyed traveling the United States. They visited every state except Alaska.
He also enjoyed spending the winters in Marco Island, Fla. for 25 years.
Mr. Bingaman was the widower of Leora V. "Orie" Dershem Bingaman.
Survivors: Daughter, Mary Ann Coppola of Aldan; brothers, Isaiah Bingaman of New Columbia, Warren Bingaman of Ridley Park; one granddaughter; many nieces and nephews.
Service: 11 a.m. Monday, McCausland-Garrity Funeral Home, 202 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden.
Visitation: 9-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial: Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Marple.
