Services for James Gene Binderim, 72, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Hatfield officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Born Dec. 9, 1927, at Sulphur to Orvel Edward and Lorene Binderim, he died April 27, 2000, at a Norman hospital.

He married Helen Betler June 26, 1948, at Ardmore. He was a former resident of Sulphur and had lived at Dickson since 1959, after moving from Corpus Christi, Texas. Binderim was a retired industrial insulator. He was a member of the Asbestos Workers Union No. 95 and Dickson First Baptist Church. Binderim was a fiddler for Buckhorn Blue Grass Band, Shadow Mountain Bank and Rock Creek Band. He was a member of the Southern Circle Square Dance Club.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; one son, Gary Eugene Binderim, Kingwood, Texas; two daughters, Nancy Irene Binderim, Sulphur, and Sue Kendall, Dickson; one sister, Carol Mills, Alvin, Texas; and seven grandchildren.

Bearers will be Jimmy Fish, Bill Kendall, Bobby Cline, Denny Faddis, Tom Carver and John Kennedy. Honorary bearers are Bill Stafford and Wesley Stark.
