Ware Neck - Mrs. Alice Elizabeth Billups, 84, passed away at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital on Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999.

She was a native of Pennsylvania and a Gloucester county resident for over 25 years. She was a member of Union Zion Baptist Church, Ware Neck, where she served on the Usher Board, Missionary Circle and the Churches Aid Club. She retired from the Gloucester Laundry and Cleaners after many years as a presser.

Left to cherish her memories is her daughter, Marie Burnett of Ware Neck; four sons, Joseph Billups of Gloucester, Walter Billups of Yorktown, Franky Billups of California and Akbar Abdul-Karim Bilal, and his wife, Karimah Rasheedah Bilal, of Alexandria; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 12, at noon at Union Zion Baptist Church, Ware Neck, with the Rev. Frederick R. M. Carter officiating. Interment will follow services in Pole Branch Cemetery.

Mrs. Billups will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 12.
