Herman J. Billings, 72, of 4393 Quince, retired employee of E.L. Bruce Lumber Co., died at 8 a.m. yesterday in an ambulance on the way to St. Francis Hospital. Memphis Funeral Home has charge. He was a member of Cherry Road Baptist Church. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Katherine Billings, a daughter, Mrs. Janice B. Grissom of Memphis; three sons, Jackie L. Billings of Memphis, Billy G. Billings of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Herman J. Billings Jr. of Titusville, Fla; a sister, Mrs. Louise Rettinger of Poplarville, Miss.; a brother, Starling Billings of Memphis, and six grandchildren.
