Mildred (Mim) Rife Bigler, of Springville, passed away the evening of August 20, 2004. She was a dear mother and grandmother, loved by her family and friends.

She was the second of four children born April 5, 1917, to Carlos E. Rife and Millie Robinson. She grew up and was educated in Eureka, Utah. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She married David (Poon) Bigler, Jr., on April 29, 1939, and they were blessed with two children. They made their home in Provo for many years, before moving to Springville.

Mildred was a devoted wife and mother and loved to support her children and grandchildren in all of their interests. She spent countless hours at little league games and always was prepared with a purse full of candy for all the children. Mim was a hard worker and could always be found working alongside her husband with his business. After Dave retired, they were hired to manage the Renegade Convenience Store at Strawberry Bay Marina and did that for many years. They looked forward to their summers there and made lots of dear friends. Mim took great pride in her needlework and shared that talent with family and friends. Her handicraft was always well made and beautiful. Love, devotion, and perseverance were her legacy to all that knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Mim is survived by her husband, Dave; children: Dee Jay (Carol) Bigler, and Carmille Rodgers; one sister, Joyce (William) McDonell; eight grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Grandma, thank you for your love!

The family would like to extend their thanks to all the caregivers at the Art City Nursing home for their compassionate care of Mim, while she was a resident there.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2004, at 11 a.m., in the Kolob 6th Ward chapel, located at 1230 South 500 East in Springville. Friends and family may visit on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville; or, at the church, one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
