Catherine (Beagle) O'Blosser (1842-1864) was the fourth child and eldest daughter of (John) Michael Beagle (1815-1876) and his wife Anna Margaret (Blotzader) Beagle (1814-1886) who immigrated from Bavaria, Germany in 1850 via Baltimore, Maryland. The family settled in Eyers Grove, Columbia County, Pennsylvania where her father Michael owned and operated a flour mill.

Catherine married Simon O'Blosser (b. 1838) in 1859. They had two children who lived to adulthood: Ulysses O'Blosser (1860-1928) and Anna Margaret (O'Blosser) Yost (1862-1945), named after Catherine's mother Anna Margaret. Catherine died in childbirth with her next child in October 1864, six months after her brother Leonard Beagle (1841-1864) died in a Civil War training camp. The two are buried next to each other in Dutch Hill Cemetery.
Catherine's son Ulysees ended up being raised by Catherine's parents in Eyersgrove. Daughter Anna Margaret remained partially with her father, but also got shuttled around to different relatives.

In 1864, the inscriber of Catherine's tombstone goofed up the spelling of Catherine's maiden name Beagle (misspelled Biggle) and the spelling of her married name O'Blosser (misspelled Ablasser). This has led to much confusion for researchers including Find a Grave. Consequently, this submission was made for a much needed explanation and biography.

Buried next to brother Leonard Beagle. Both her maiden name and married surname were misspelled by the Inscriber back in 1864. The family debated about replacing her headstone when her parents headstones were replaced in the 1970's.
