Times-Leader, February 4, 1960. Charles was born June 6, 1878 near Enfield and died January 30, 1960 in a hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He is the son of Silas Evans and Sydney FIELDS Biggerstaff. He moved to St. Louis Missouri in 1938 from Belle Prairie. He is a veteran of the Spanish-American war. He married Minnie ESTES August 19, 1902. (Headstone reads August 9, 1902) She died in 1957. They had 10 children, two died, Annie Velma died in infancy and Ronnie Eugene died in 1959. Surviving are six children, Robert of Houston, Texas, Rupert of St. Louis, Missouri J. Sydney, Mrs. Lee Hudspeth, Mrs. Donald Phillips, and Ernestine Biggerstaff all of Wood River; sister, Mrs. C. A. Harnett of East St. Louis, Missouri. Interred in Belle Prairie.
