REGINA LEADER POST:

FEBRUARY 27, 1910 - JANUARY 25, 2001 BIGGART--Archibald Hugh (Rusty) Biggart passed away at the Extendicare/Sunset Nursing Home. Archie was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Helen Biggart; his brothers Jack, Bob and Gordon; his sisters Margaret Baker and Helen (Dolly) Ireland. He is survived by his wife Margaret Patricia (Peg) of sixty-two years; his daughter Patricia Ann Peterson; his granddaughter Lee Anne Potter; great grandchildren Jasmine Lee and Christopher William Potter; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was born in Alberta and moved to Regina in 1917 where he attended elementary school and graduated from Central Collegiate and the University of Toronto. He was the accountant for the Leader Post and CKCK Radio for twenty-five years. He was the Business Manager of the Winnipeg Citizen and a member of the Norwood United Church, Southland Golf Club, and Blue Bomber Football Club. He moved back to Regina and was Business Manager at Art Riddell's Ford Company. He worked twenty years for Revenue Canada until he retired in 1975. He was an ardent sportsman, player and coach of the Dale Football Club, member of the Ram and Roughrider Football Clubs. He was the owner and coach of the Abbott Hockey Team, Builder of the Pat Hockey Club, Director and Club Captain at the Wascana Country Club, executive member of the Murray Golf Club, and the Royal Regina Golf Club. He was an elder of the Knox-Metropolitan United Church. He was a life member and Past Master of North West Mounted Police Lodge No. 11, 33 degree Scottish Rite Mason, member of WA WA Shrine and member of the Royal Order of Scotland. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Memorial Park with Rev. John Haas presiding. Flowers gratefully declined. Friends so choosing may make donations, in memoriam, to The WA WA Shrine Patient Transportation Fund, c/o WA WA Temple, 2065 Hamilton Street, Regina, SK S4P 2E1 or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
