Arvilla Bierman, age 86, of Northfield, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Chapel of the Three Links Care Center in Northfield, with Reverend William Van Oss and Reverend Keith Homstad officiating. Music was provided by Donna Mae Kadrlik and pallbearers were her nieces and nephews. Burial was at Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation was held for one hour Friday, prior to the services at the Three Links Chapel.
Arvilla Jean Bierman was born Jan. 27, 1918, in Northfield, the daughter of Arthur and Bessie (Parker) Bierman. She was raised in Northfield and attended Washington Elementary School and Laura Baker School. She lived with her parents until the early 1960s and then became a resident of the Laura Baker School. Beginning in 1988 she moved to the Northfield Manor; and in 1997 she moved into the Three Links Care Center.
Arvilla enjoyed needle work, especially crocheting, writing letters to her many friends, visiting, and reading the newspaper. She was a longtime member of All Saints Episcopal Church and enjoyed many holidays and family events with her brothers and their families. Memorials are preferred to All Saint's Episcopal Church and Laura Baker Services.
Arvilla Bierman is survived by her brother, John (Betsy) Bierman of Northfield; 13 nieces and nephews, and 32 great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother William and her nephew, William Jr.
