He owned and operated the Bieler Dairy Farm, East Greenville, for most of his life, until turning operation over to his son.
He was also treasurer and school director for 26 years in Upper Hanover Township and later in Upper Perkiomen Joint Schools, now Upper Perkiomen School District.
Born in East Greenville, he was a son of the late Howard and Cora (Rahn) Bieler.
He was a life member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, East Greenville, where he was a deacon, elder, consistory member and choir member for many years. He was also Sunday school treasurer for 25 years.
A member of the Lehigh Valley Dairy Association, Allentown, he was on the advisory board of the East Greenville Local.
He was a member of the Valley Grange 1880, Red Hill.
Survivors: Son, Richard R. and daughter, Fern R., wife of Frederick K. Fried, both of East Greenville; five grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
