Agnes Anne Bidwell, 85, of Elm Street, Tariffville, died Sunday, (July 14, 2002) at home.

She was born November 25, 1916 in East Granby, daughter of the late James Anthony and Margaret (Quinn) Bidwell and had lived in Tariffville most of her life. She was a graduate of Simsbury High School, class of 1934.

Miss Bidwell was a secretary at Brewer's and Wholesalers Board of Trade for over 30 years prior to her retirement in 1983, and a life long communicant at St. Bernard's Church, Tariffville, serving on the board of Trustee. She was also a member of the St. Bernard's Ladies Guild, the Simsbury Senior Center, The Farmington Valley Chapter 790 of AARP, and the Farmington Valley Seniors Bowling League.

Agnes is survived by her sister, Arline M. Bidwell of Tariffville; her brother, James A. Bidwell, Sr. of Avon; a nephew, James A. Bidwell, Jr., and his wife, Diane (Simon), of East Hartford; a niece, Patricia M. Bidwell of Norwalk; two grandnieces, Laura Kuhlberg and her husband, Andrew, of Canton, and Caroline Lawrence and her husband, Anthony, of Colchester; a grandnephew, James A. Bidwell, III and his wife, Pamela, of East Hartford; and six great-grandnephews and nieces, Julia and Emily Kuhlberg, Ashley and Zachary Lawrence and Jordan and Dylan Bidwell.

Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, Wednesday, July 17, 4-7 p.m. Funeral will be Thursday, July 18, 10:15 a.m. from the Vincent Funeral Home, Simsbury followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. in St. Bernard's Church, Tariffville. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Bernard's Church, P.O. Box 85, Tariffville, CT 06081-0085 or the charity of the donor's choice.
