Birth: 1893
Death: Sep. 2, 1913

Harriet Biddle was a daughter Harriet Fox and Alexander Mercer Biddle, of Torresdale, a Philadelphia suburb.
She was presented to society in 1911 and was a very popular debutante and a favorite guest at society functions.
Harriet, just 20 years old, was one of eight young Philadelphia socialites who were killed when their train returning from Maine was rear ended by another train of vacationers.
MARIA STOCKTON BULLITT, EMILIE K. DAVIS, HARRIET BIDDLE, S. CROZER FOX, and DANIEL N. McQUILLAN, Jr., all of whom were killed, were members of a camping party, the guests of Mrs. George W. Elkins, Jr. of Elkins Park. at one of the preserves in Maine of her father, Caleb F. Fox. All but two of that party of nine guests were wiped out. No one was injured on the White Mountain train which hit the rear of the ill-fated train
Harriet's funeral was held at All Saints Episcopal Church in Torresdale where she was buried in the family vault in the churchyard.
