Mrs. Martha A. Bible died at her home near Rosean Monday night at 12 o'clock, of cancer, after a sickness extending over several months. Mrs. Bible came to Lyon County with her husband, J. H. Bible, in 1869, and had lived here since. She was 69 yrs. old. Besides the husband she leaves four sons, C. H. Bible, who lives on a farm near Rosean, John Bible, Ed Bible, and Hall Bible, all of Emporia. The funeral was held at the Rosean schoolhouse at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The services were conducted by the Rev. J. B. Mackenzie, of the Grace Methodist Church. Interment was made in the Rosean Cemetery."
