Art was a member of Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville for 27 years and the Zion Lutheran Church in Manawa for 14 years where he served on the church council as secretary. He was now a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa where he had been an elder and greeter. After moving to Appleton, he attended many services at Faith Lutheran Church. He was also an active member of the Manawa Lions Club for 24 years. Art's hobbies were feeding his birds, reading Louie La Mour Westerns and Civil War stories and the Wall Street Journal. He was a great lover of Bowlby's and Oaks dark chocolates and was very fond of the three german schnauzer he had as pets Tiny, Schnappsy and Sheba. He also liked to watch Wheel of Fortune, baseball and golfing on TV. Since their retirement they did much traveling which included all 50 states, Mexico and 3 times to Europe of which Ireland was one of their favorites. The funeral service for Art will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. Wally Waite officiating. Burial will be in Big Falls Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Thank you for the wonderful days we shared together. My prayers will be with you till we meet again. I have not only lost my lover and dearest friend, but a competent and kind husband who dealt with every problem.
