Amanda was born in Detmold, Missouri, on December 18, 1882. She was the fifth of eleven children born to Friedrick and Carolina (Rohlfing) Panhorst.
On August 15, 1900 Amanda Panhorst married Charles Beyersdorf. In 1905, the family moved to Maplewood, Missouri. There Charles was employed as construction foreman on many large building projects in St. Louis, including the Kiel Auditorium and the Arena.
Together Amanda and Charles had three children:
Mildred Beyersdorf Frick,
Gilbert Beyersdorf and
Amanda and Charles had been married 55 years when Charles died on April 23, 1956. He was buried at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery on Highway A outside of Washington, Missouri. Amanda died on March 14, 1975, and was buried with her husband.
