Etta Mae Bevins, 76, of Longmont, died December 8, 2007 at her home.

She was born September 16, 1931 in Cameron, Missouri to Roy and Emma Eunice (Nicholson) Sloan.

She married James O. "Jim" Bevins on December 23, 1971 in Arvada.

Etta was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She moved to Longmont in 1971.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Denver and was strong in her faith. Etta enjoyed traveling and lived in Venezuela and Hawaii. She also enjoyed puzzles including crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Etta was also an excellent baker and will be fondly remembered for her carrot cakes and pecan pies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on May 13, 1998; a daughter, Cindy Wilson and a granddaughter, Mandy Kennedy.

Survivors include two sons, Tom Daschofsky and his wife Tanya of Longmont and John Bevins of Berthoud; three daughters, Robin Bertchie and her husband Ted of Berthoud, Jennifer Bailie of Denver and Dawn Wright and her husband Todd of Longmont; two sisters, Mildred Milner and Joyce Stephenson; a brother, Larry Hewitt; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be 11AM Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel with Reverend Kent Schnegelberger of Messiah Lutheran Church officiating.

Cremation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made to Halcyon Hospice and Palliative Care and sent to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
