Donald Everett "Dr. Don" Bevins, 61, of Upper Chloe, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born in Pike County, Oct. 4, 1948, the son of Ruby Justice Bevins of Upper Chloe and the late Grady Bevins.
He was a radio personality for Gearheart Communications and was of the Old Regular Baptist faith.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Lehai Bevins; one daughter, Cynthia Maria Ray (Kenneth Dwayne) of Sanford, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Yen Linh Trinh of Pikeville; four brothers, James Grady Bevins of Denver, Larry Dean Bevins, William Gene Bevins and Ronald Blake Bevins, all of Pikeville; three grandchildren, Hope Renea Olausen, Lindsay Nicole Ray and Gypsy Pearl Ray; and one great-grandchild, Halen James Olausen.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, in the Lucas & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Willard Adams and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Bevins Family Cemetery, Upper Chloe. Arrangements are under direction of Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Visitation is in the chapel with special services at 7 p.m.
