C. Adrian Bevil, 91, of Austin, formerly of Woodville, TX passed away Friday, August 13, 2004. Services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, August 16, 2004 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville, with burial in Mr. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will begin Sunday at 5:00 PM at the funeral home.

Bro. Bevil was born December 21, 1912 to Dave & Anna Pearl Bevil in Jasper, TX. He was affectionately known by friends and loved ones as C.A., Adrian, Brother Bevil & Mr. Bevil. He was a retired minister and had served as a pioneer member of Minister of Education having served in nine churches, including: North End Baptist in Beaumont, Trinity Baptist in Port Arthur, First Baptist in Bridge City, Silsbee & Woodville.

After retirement, he served 20 years as president of the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery Association Board, chaired the Tyler County Food Commodities Program and assisted in securing a federal grant through Tyler County FEMA. He was also a staff member with Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville from 1991 to 2000 when he moved to Austin to be near his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Helen Bevil in 1997 and is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Adrienne & Gayle Satterfield of Austin; brother, Aubrey Bevil of Bridge City; and three grandchildren, Marty Satterfield, Rob & Kristi Satterfield and Paige & Gregg Johnson.
