DALLAS - Lisa Elaine Koloen died on Sunday, June 6th as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Lisa was born on March 19, 1956 in Dallas, Oregon, the daughter of Eldon and Lois Miller Bevens. She graduated from Dallas High School in 1974. She earned her early childhood education degree from O.C.E. in Monmouth. She studied to become a kindergarten teacher.

From a very early age Lisa helped her father at Muir & McDonald Tannery in Dallas. She and her husband Greg operated the tannery together until its closure in recent years.

Lisa had been active with Dallas 4-H. She had been a coach at Dallas High School for the Equestrian Team for four years. Lisa has been an active member of our community serving on the Dallas Chamber board, Morrison School board, Summerfest Committee, Budget Committee for the City of Dallas. Lisa was also a past board member of the Leather Industries of America. She was a volunteer for SABLE House in Dallas as well.

She is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Lisa helped establish AL-ANON in Dallas about 20 years ago. Lisa and Greg established the D.O.G.G.s Motorcycle Club (Dallas Old Guys and Gals) about eight years ago and it has a grown into a large group of motorcycle enthusiasts that also provide community service projects for Dallas. She enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson with the D.O.G.G. group, and spending time with her family and friends.

Lisa was a caretaker for PCL which she enjoyed very much.

She is survived by her husband, Greg; daughters, Jessica (Brian) Olson, Vanessa (John) Koloen, Caitlin (Nick) McCaw; seven grandchildren; parents, Eldon and Lois Bevens; sister, Laurie Gee (Chuck); niece, Andrea (Matt) Conrady; nephew, Charley (Kara) Gee; mother-in-law, Margaret Koloen; along with brother-in-laws, Wally (Becky) Koloen, Alan (Kim) Koloen.

Visitation will be from 1 - 6 p.m., Sunday, June 13th at Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, June 14th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dallas. Interment will be in Dallas Cemetery. Memorials may be made to any branch of OSU Federal Credit Union for a memorial fund in Lisa Koloen's name that has been established for the family or to Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center, 287 SW Washington St., Dallas, OR 97338.
