Alfred Bevan Jr., 63, of Jackson street, Edwardsville, died Saturday in the Hospice Community Care Unit at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born March 21, 1941, he was a son of the late Alfred Bevan Sr. and Ruth Gross Bevan. He attended Plymouth public schools and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was employed as a driver for Pagnotti Enterprises.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Carol Wolfe, in 2000; a brother, Michael, in 1966; sisters Theresa in 1973 and Karen Tensa in 1977.
Surviving are a son, Alfred III, of Plymouth; daughter Patricia Bevan of Edwardsville; granddaughters Carisa, Tasha and Heather; great-grandson Christopher; brothers Barry, of Williamsport; Wayne, of Nanticoke; Neil, of Hunlock Creek; Thomas, of Luzerne; sisters Penny Kratz of Plymouth; Jean Hawryshko of Plymouth; Wendy Bevan of Plymouth; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. today at the Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home Inc., 614 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke, with Pastor Edward Gospicinski officiating. Interment will be in Shawnee Cemetery, Plymouth.
