Age 93. Resident of St. Clair Shores. Beloved husband of the late Helen Cecilia, passed away January 1, 2007, in his son's home after battling cancer. A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he is survived by his children Kenneth Lee (Patricia), Albert Anthony, Jr. (Jaye), and Janet Keller (Michael) of New Mexico; grandchildren, Theresa, Yvonne (Gursin), Kevin, Karen (Nugent), Brian (Keller), Scott (Keller), and Timothy (Keller); and thirteen great-grandchildren. Born in Detroit, he was the oldest of nine children. He was preceded in death by brothers Charles and George, and is survived by sisters Helen (Ruthenberg), Mary (Whitmer), Josephine (Kahle), Victoria (Lane), and brothers Clarence and Fred. His education was received at De La Salle Collegiate High School and at the University of Detroit in the Colleges of Commerce, Finance and Law. Albert spent his business career in Finance, Sales and Marketing with the Koenig Fuel & Supply Company of Detroit for 44 years during which time he gained presidency and executive responsiblities of many business related and community organizations. He was founding member and past president of the Downtown Detroit Optimist Club and past president of the Chapter of the National Office Management Association, the Construction Industries Credit Group and the National Association of Credit Management. Until his illness he was active in the Older Persons Advisory Commission of the city of St. Clair Shores, AARP (past state organizer), Senior Men's Club of Grosse Pointe, English-Speaking Union, and the Alliance Francaise de Grosse Pointe. He was an active member of St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church where he served as lector. Visitation Thursday 2-9 p.m. and Friday 2-9 p.m. at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Rosary Friday 7 p.m. In state 9:30 a.m. Saturday till time of Mass 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 157 Lake Shore Dr., Grosse Pointe Farms.
