Harold Best, Reitred Glass Worker, Dies
Harold A. (Zeke) Best, 63, of Best Avenue in Knox, retired employe of Knox Glass Inc., died unexpectedly at 10:30 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Best was born in Beaver Township, Clarion County, March 4, 1907, a son of J. Perry and Louella Hook Best.
He was married to the former Elizabeth Whitehill, who died May 30, 1969. His mother died May 31, 1969, and his father died in 1961.
Mr. Best was a member of the Knox United Methodist Church. He also was a member of Edenburg Lodge 550, F. & A.M. in Knox. Venango Lodge of Perfection in Oil City, New Castle Consistory and the Zem Zem Temple in Erie. Mr. Best had worked for Knox Glass for more than 40 years before his retirement in 1969.
He is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth (Betty Ann) Best of Clarion, and a number of cousins.
Friends are being received at the William N. Rupert Funeral Home in Knox, where funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Rev. John Heiser, pastor of the Knox United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Knox Union Cemetery.
