Faye G. (Hensley) Bess, 87, of Granite City, died at 12:25 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008, in Granite City.
She was born Jan. 23, 1921, in Iberia, Mo. Mrs. Bess was a member of the Nameoki United Methodist Church in Granite City, where she was also a member of the Quilters Club. Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn (Dan) Bernaix, and Joan (Terry) Wills, both of Granite City; one sister, Louise Wilkis, of Missouri; two brothers, Junior Hensley, of Missouri, and Bob Hensley, of Texas; four grandchildren, Ellen Bruns, Justin Bernaix, Kristen Hickam, and Tiffany Bernaix; and three great-grandchildren, Ella Hickam, Caden Bernaix, and Max Bruns.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Bess; her parents, Colmer and Lottie (Woody) Hensley; and one brother, Wendell Hensley.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today, May 7, at the Nameoki United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Pate officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, handled the arrangements.
