Dorothy (Besnecker) Levere, 92, a resident of the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople, formerly of Evans City, passed away Saturday.
Born on July 26, 1921, in Evans City, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mabel (Wilkins) Besnecker.
Dorothy was a faithful member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Harmony. Dorothy's family operated the Evans City Roller Rink, which was an integral part of their lives. As a child, she performed shows with the roller rink bear and as an adult, proudly took on ownership of the rink and maintained it for many years. Dorothy enjoyed the time spent with her beloved family at her home in Conneaut Lake.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Lee Levere and his wife, Pamela, of Newburgh, Ind.; her daughter-in-law, Trudy Levere of Butler; her two grandsons, Michael Levere and his wife, Kelly, of Harmony and Thomas Levere and his wife, Tara, of Gibsonia; her two precious great-grandchildren, Wyatt Wade Levere and Piper Josephine Levere; and her two nieces, Jean Mikula and Marlene White.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter T. Levere; her son, Wade W. Levere; her brother, Leonard Besnecker; and her sister, Esther Foushee.
Levere - The family of Dorothy (Besnecker) Levere, who passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, will welcome friends from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. Barbara Love, officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Evergreen Cemetery in Harmonsburg, Pa.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's honor in support of the Zion Lutheran Church, 557 Perry Highway, Harmony, PA 16037.
