Ambrose Beshears

BUSH -- Ambrose Beshears, 79, died at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 1987, in Herrin Hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin, with burial in Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Beshears was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the United Mine Workers and the Apostolic Church.

He was born Feb. 12, 1908, in Ullin to Sam and Rosa Beshears. He married Florence Allsup in 1932. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Barbara Reed of De Soto and Doris Vaughn of Cambria; two brothers, Jess Beshears of Colorado and Harley Beshears of Kentucky; one sister, Pearl Jones of De Soto; seven grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and three great-grandchildren. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
