HANOVER Dorothy R. Berwager, 69, entered into God's eternal care Sunday, October 21, 2007, at Hershey Medical Center. Born January 28, 1938, in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Earl W. "Jake" and Helen G. (Flickinger) Rife. Dorothy was the loving wife of William Harley Berwager who died June 25, 1996. Mrs. Berwager was a member of Hanover First Church of God. She was a member of the fraternal order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary #1406, The Hanover AMVETS Post 22, Ladies Auxiliary, The Hanover VFW Post 2506 Ladies Auxiliary, the Hanover Republican Club, the Hanover Home Association, as well as the National and Local ARRP Chapter #669. Mrs. Berwager retired from the former Doubleday Company after 31 years of service. Dorothy is survived by one brother, Reginald Rife of Phoenixville; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Terry L. Hammond; and one brother, Earl E. "Baron" Rife. A service to remember Dorothy's life will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the Hanover First Church of God, 600 Fairview Drive, Hanover, with her Pastor the Rev. Gerald E. Shoap officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover. Serving as casketbearers will be Reginald Rife, Brian Rife, Eric Rife, David Rife, Joseph Rife, and Harry Flickinger, Jr.
