BOUNTIFUL-Elvira "Beeda" Bertram, age 79, passed into peace at last at the Orchard Cove Care Center in Bountiful, Utah. She resided at 756 West 3500 South in Bountiful, Utah at the time of her death.
She was born May 26, 1929 in Highland Boy, (Bingham Canyon) Utah, the only daughter of Pascual "Pat" and Maria Cecelia Idoeta Barrutia. She graduated from West High School, in Salt Lake City, with honors in Speech and Debate. She attended classes at the University of Utah where she met and then married Len Bertram her partner for 60 years. They moved their young family to Bountiful, in September of 1950 and there they planted deep roots and a beautiful garden where she and her husband lived for 58 years. She was a very attentive mother to her two children, Linda and George, a dedicated housekeeper and a prodigious gardener. She and Len received many compliments on their lawn, trees, and gardens. She loved retail sales and throughout her marriage, worked off and on in local department stores. She was very competitive and won many awards for sales and customer service.
She was preceded in death by Len, her dear husband and debate partner of sixty years; her parents; and her three much loved brothers: Tony, Al, and Dick. She is survived by her two children, Linda Maria and George Stephen (Susan) of Bountiful. She is also survived by four sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.
A remembrance will be held on Sat., June 28, 2008, at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, in Bountiful, at 3 p.m. Afterward Family and Friends are welcome to gather at her home (756 West 3500 South, Bountiful) where refreshments will be offered.
