She was the fourth of six children of Oregon Columbia Luelling and Emily Jane Norris. Most of her childhood was spent with her family living in the Oakland Bay area in California. At about age sixteen she moved with her family to Fresno, California. She worked as a telephone operator for Pacific Telephone and Telegraph in Fresno for a number of years and became a Chief Operator. In 1927 she married Tom Jones Berry and they moved to Los Angeles County, where she lived the rest of her life. Addie died in Alhambra, Los Angeles County, California, on 05 Aug 1982 at the age of 92.
