Ruby Lea Alburtis, born to John L. Berry and Ruby C. Berry in Enid, Oklahoma on October 15, 1925, passed away at Baptist Hospital on December 19, 1994. She was married to Lawrence Alburtis, January 21, 1956. She volunteered at All Souls Episcopal Church for many years and was a former operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone. She was a member of Oklahoma Society of Professional Engineers Auxiliary, where she had served as past President of the Central Chapter when they celebrated their 50th Anniversary. She was a member of All Souls Episcopal Church and had sung in the choir. She was a member of Several Better Breathers Clubs within the city.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Alburtis of the home; sister, Pattie Phipps of Bison; daughters, Vickie Hidde of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Lawretta Souders of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Ruby Lea was preceded in death by her mother, father, sister, brother and two grandchildren. Services will be held Thursday, December 22, 1994, 10:00 a.m. at All Souls Episcopal Church with interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
