Mrs. Bertha Elizabeth Alexander,78, of Evansville, IN and formerly of Madisonville, KY died at 8:31 P.M. Thursday, October 19, 2006 at Vistacare Center in Evansville.

She was born in Madisonville, KY on February 24, 1928 to the late Lansdel Berry and Ethel Groves Berry. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, James H. Alexander in 2004 and one son, Melvin H. Alexander in 2005.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Graening of Evansville; one sister, Margie Grace of Madisonville; two brothers, James Berry and John Berry, both of Madisonville; five grandchildren,Susan Bolin, Joseph Alexander, Michael Graening, Rebecca Hatchell and Mark Alexander; two great-grandchildren, Kaylin Hatchell and Zachary Bolin.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October, 23, 2006 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday and on Monday after 10:00 A.M. until the service.
