Funeral services for Mr. Scott Eugene "Scotty" Berry, age 70, of Oak Grove, Louisiana will be held at 2PM on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Oak Grove. Reverend Carl Gulde will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove. Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove.

Mr. Berry died Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at his residence. Scotty was a lifelong resident of West Carroll Parish where he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oak Grove. There he served on various committees and sang bass in the choir. He was a retired aerial applicator and owner of Scotty's Used Cars and Trucks. He served in the U.S. Army Aviation with a tour in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. He was a charter member of the West Carroll Airport Authority and was instrumental in helping make the Kelly-Dumas Airport what it is today.

He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Franklin "T. F." Berry.

He is survived by his wife, Dotty Berry of Oak Grove; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Tony Hill of Oak Grove; son, John Berry of Longview, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, David and Lana Berry of Ruston, Louisiana; daughter, Pat McCarver of Conway, Arkansas; grandson, Rye Hill of Oak Grove; grandson, Drew Hill of Oak Grove; grandson, Cody Berry of Ruston; granddaughter, Caitlin Berry of Ruston; grandson, Thorn Berry of Longview; his mother, Myrtis Oree Berry of Oak Grove; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Nancy Berry of Redfield, Arkansas; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Rick Herrington of Oak Grove; sister, Edna Tatum of Bastrop, Louisiana; sister and brother-in-law, Dot and Ken Johnston of McComb, Mississippi.

Pallbearers are: Dennis Berry, Tony Berry, Fred Bolding, Morris Blackmon, Jerry Hughes, and Carl Madden. Honorary Pallbearers are: Mike Berry, Ricky Ables, Calvin Grissom, Men of Faith Sunday School Class, and Faith Sunday School Class.
