David was born on Sept. 25, 1930, in Corsicana, to Edgar Valley Berry and Lena Mae Grimes Berry. He served in the U.S. Army, in Korea. On Nov. 27, 1954, David married the love of his life, Audrie LaNeal Bailey, and they have been married for just over 53 years. David was a member of the Western Heights Baptist Church. He loved farming, organic gardening and was an avid fisherman. He taught himself to play the violin and fiddle and over the years he played in, "David Berry Western Strings", "Howard Bright and His Sun Shiners" and "Okie Dabney and the Country Diamonds." He often played at the Sul Ross Senior Dance Center and the Regis Retirement Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Novaleen Sullivan.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Audrie; daughters, Diane Dunlap and husband, Howie and Lynda Dempsey and husband, Keith, all of Waco; son, David R. Berry, of Waco; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Wright and husband, Buddy, of Laredo; many nieces and nephews; and two favorite cats, Sylvester and Wilson.
