Funeral services for Joseph Scott "Junior" Berry, age 83, of Oak Grove, Louisiana will be held at 10AM on Friday, September 5, 2008 at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Grove.

Reverends Mike Ray and Fred Hale will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove.

Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove.

Mr. Berry died Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the West Carroll Memorial Hospital in Oak Grove.

Mr. Berry was a native and lifelong resident of West Carroll Parish where he was a member and deacon of the Green Baptist Church. A veteran of WWII, he served as a machinist aboard the USS Lexington. He owned and operated B & D Auto Repair for many years in Oak Grove. He was the Past Adjutant of the Catron-Kelly Post of the American Legion. He was serving as the president of the Fiske Union Water Board.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Scott Berry, Sr. and Frankie Mae Dye Berry Blackburn; 4 brothers: T. F. Berry, James Berry, Bernis Berry, and Clarence Howard "Pete" Berry; 3 sisters: Mary Etta Pitman, Ollie Hall, and Lillian Jones.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Cletha Mae Orr Berry of Oak Grove; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Terri Berry of Oak Grove; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and June Berry of West Monroe, Louisiana; grandson and his wife, Rodney and Shannon Gammill Berry of Shreveport, Louisiana; granddaughter and her husband, April and Marc Todd of Winnsboro, Louisiana; granddaughter, Heather Berry of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; grandson, Heath Berry of Ruston, Louisiana; granddaughter, Whitni Berry of Baton Rouge; granddaughter, Taylor Berry of Oak Grove; 3 great grandchildren: Josie, Morgan, and Holden Todd of Winnsboro; sister, Maynell Whitney of Machias, Maine.

Pallbearers are: Jimmy Orr, Reggie Prine, Jim Herlevic, Kent Elkins, Randy Gregory, and Justin Gregory.
