Eleanor A. Lipinski Bernotas, 87, of McMurray, formerly of Washington, died Friday, May 25, 2012, in McMurray Hills Manor nursing home.
She was born February 26, 1925, in Washington, daughter of the late Stephen and Edith Szolek Lipinski.
Mrs. Bernotas was a homemaker and member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church.
On September 20, 1942, she married John S. Bernotas. Mr. Bernotas died December 11, 1976.
Mrs. Bernotas had belonged to the Alpine Women Tuesday night and Wednesday morning bowling league and also, many years ago, to the United Women Club in Canonsburg.
She enjoyed playing cards and board games with family and friends, and being around her granddaughters and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are a son, John S. and wife Sue Ellan; a daughter, Charlotte and husband Arthur W. (Bill) Howard; granddaughters Michele Olsen, Richele Davis and Lori Brooks; eight great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Stephen Lipinski and sister-in-law Phyllis Lipinski; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, deceased are two brothers, Stanley A. and Chester Lipinski, and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Pakulla Bernotas.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Hummell & Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, funeral director, where a blessing service will held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, with the Rev. Thomas O'Neil officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
