Birth: Mar. 9, 1888, Lithuania
Death: Aug. 20, 1959
New Haven County
Connecticut, USA

Anna (Liepuonis) Bernotas was born in Lithua- nia, then part of the Russian Empire, and im- migrated to the United States as a young wo- man around 1912. She settled in Connecti- cut where, by 1913, she had met and married a Lithuanian man named Petras. Together, the two established themselves on Spring Street in the Union City section of Naugatuck and started a family.

A resident of Naugatuck for nearly fifty years, Anna was a parishioner at St. Mary's Church, where she became a member of the Altar So- ciety.

Widowed at age 47, Anna Bernotas survived her husband by more than two decades and passed away at age 71 at Waterbury Hospital. At the time of her death, she was still living on Spring Street, residing at the home of her daughter Binnie and son-in-law Mike. She was survived by an elder sister of Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania Agnes Kaunas, who died in 1961.
