"East Worcester, May 22 --- Mrs. Mary I. Anthony, 72, died at her home her[e] at 4 this morning after a long illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 at the residence. Rev. George B. McAllister, pastor of the Methodist church, will officiate, and burial will be made at South Valley. Born in Lutheranville, January 22, 1868, a daughter of Humphrey and Rosetta Berner, Mrs. Anthony was married Jan. 9, 1886, to Emmett H. Anthony. She was a member of the Oneonta First Methodist church. A musician of exceptional ability, at one time she was organist of East Worcester and Oneonta Methodist churches. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Mable Roseland, Brooklyn; Mrs. Marian Sekula, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Emily Spencer, Worcester, Mass.; four sons, David and George of Flint, Mich.; Leroy and William of East Worcester; one brother, William Berner of Worcester, and several grandchildren."
