Our beloved, Anna, Mother, Nana and Oma passed away on Aug. 29, 2011 in Calimesa at the age of 90. She was born in Modosch, Yugoslavia to Katherine and Stefan Zettl; she was the only child. Anna was married to Josef Bernauer for 53 years. She, husband Josef, and son Joseph Jr., immigrated to the United States in 1952 from Austria and settled in the Los Angeles area. Anna worked for many years as a trained seamstress at the Rosemarie Reid Bathing Suit Factory and Galanos Original Fashions. She was a longtime member of St. Stephens Catholic Church in Los Angeles, who sponsored the family immigration to the United States. Later, when they moved to Cherry Valley, she became a member of San Gorgonio Catholic Church in Beaumont. Anna is survived by her son, Joseph Jr.; daughter-in-law, Rose; two granddaughters, Ann Marie Evans and Domencia Bernauer; four great-grandchildren, Marcus, Hunter, Alexandra and Colin; nieces, Theresa Groebl of St Louis, Mo. and god-daughter, Rosemarie Martins of Star, Idaho.

Rosary prayers were held at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Ave., Beaumont on Sept. 1.

Funeral Mass was at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church, 1234 Palm Ave. in Beaumont on Friday, Sept. 2. Interment followed at Stewart Sunnyslope Cementary, 40 S Pennsylvania Ave., Beamount. Arrangements were entrusted to Weaver Mortuary, Beaumont. Mom will be missed by all of us.
