Arthur "Red" Bernard, 82, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Thibodaux Funeral Home. Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.
He is survived by his wife, Earleen P. Bernard; three sons, Harry and wife, Cindy Bernard, Arthur "Putt" and wife, Nikki Bernard, and Joseph Brown; five daughters, Madelyn and husband, Louis Petersen, LaWanda and husband, David Leger, Jeannie Doiron, Jewell Albrest, and Ellen Pecoul and husband, Mike; two brothers, Wilburn Bernard and Robert Bernard; 20 grandchildren, Benjamin, Lee and Brad Bernard, Zoe, Jillian and Beau Bernard, Justin and Breanna Brown, Matthew, Marcus Petersen, Marti Burnham, Eric and Sara Leger, Amy Moore, Lucas Doiron, Jesse and Jorden Albrest, Michael, Andrew and Nicolette Pecoul; and four great-grandchildren, Jordan Evans, Sydnee Petersen, Clinton Leger II and Jane Leger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Estelle Roland and Wallace Bernard; two brothers, John "Bolly" Bernard and Wallace Bernard Jr.; and one sister, Estelle Bright.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to The Shriner's Children's Hospital.
