Adelaide "Pat" Phillips Bernard, 82, of New Orleans, Louisiana died peacefully on Sunday, January 13, 2008 at Martin's Landing in (Lambeth House). Mrs. Bernard was born on March 6, 1925, daughter of Ralph R. Phillips and Adelaide Neilson McGinnis of Torras, Louisiana. Mrs. Bernard was married for 55 years to the late Thomas Norton Bernard. She was a life long resident of New Orleans and graduated from Newcomb College in 1948. She was a member of Pi Phi Sorority, and was a columnist for the Vieux Carre Courrier, free lance writer and Editor of "Today's Living" for the Times-Picayune. She was an active French Quarter tour guide for over 20 years and lecturer for conventions and civic clubs on antiques, architecture, garden design and castles and gardens of Scotland. She was a member of Le Petit Salon, Quarante Club, Orleans Club, and the New Orleans Museum of Art. She was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband Thomas N. Bernard, Adelaide Phillips Bernard (infant) and son Ralph Phillips Bernard, and is survived by a son, two daughters, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 2:00 PM with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM.
