MRS. BERNICE I. BERGQUIST, 80 West Union St., Canton, died Wednesday, July 8, 1970. She was born April 18 (should read April 13), 1904, the daughter of Dayton and Eva Loomis Phinney in Athens. She was a nurse at the Troy Community Hospital and recently retired after 25 years of service.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel; five daughters, Mrs. William Ward of Rochester, N.Y., Mrs. Raymond Koehler, Rochester, N.Y., Mrs. Scott Wheeler of Canton, Miss Nancy Bergquist of Syracuse, N.Y., Mrs. George Card of Williamsport; two sons Daniel of Canton, RD 1, Bill of Titusville, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Ray McMullen of Kent, N.Y., Mrs. Aletha Swoger of Erie; one brother, Ronald Phinney of Troy; 18 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

She was a member of the Church of Christ Disciples in Canton and the Canton Rebekah Lodge. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Morse Funeral Home, 12 E. Main St., Canton with the Rev. Ralph Knight officiating. Burial was in the Windfall Cemetery. –Canton Independent Sentinel.
