Albert R. Bergeson, 84, Medford, died May 17, 2006, at his home.

He was born Oct. 16, 1921, in the town of Hill, to Benjamin and Frieda (Goetzke) Bergeson.

He married Esther Bernice Hallstrand in Ogema in 1945. She preceded him in death in 1981. He married Pat Kalmon Anderson on April 26, 1998, in Ogema.

In his early years, he worked as a shoemaker and a barber in Ogema. He later drove cattle truck and worked his way into a job as a buyer for Oscar Mayer Corporation. He worked for a time as a supervisor at Brothers Two in Rib Lake.

He owned and operated a school bus and drove for the Rib Lake School District. He retired in 1979 and then bought and sold automotive equipment, enjoyed auctions, woodworking, hunting and was especially active in church work.

He was a member of Spirit Baptist Church where he had currently been serving on the Mission Board. He was a former member of Ogema Baptist Church where he had served as a trustee, deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He also raised numerous foster children over the years.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; by two daughters, Joan (Rev. Leo) Dallaire, Indio, Calif., and Rebekah (Bruce) Anderson, Mason; by one son, Paul (Tammy), Medford; by step-children, Rachel Bloodhart, Eau Claire, Jason (Tammy) Anderson, Norfolk, Va., Peter (Melissa) Anderson, Mellen, Jacob Anderson, Maple Grove, Minn., and Nicholas Anderson, Lake Nebagomon; by 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and by Ben Krans, Prentice.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Doris, who died in infancy.

Funeral services were held May 20 at Ogema Baptist Church with Pastor Dick Wohler, Pastor Paul Van Camp and Pastor David Root officiating. Burial took place in Garden of Memories Cemetery in the town of Hill.
