Former Kent resident Anita Pearl "The Warden" Berger of Sumner died June 2, 2000, in Tacoma. She was 74.
She was born April 4, 1926, in Seattle and lived most of her life in Kent.
She worked many years as a waitress in Kent. She was a caregiver and enjoyed cooking, writing poetry and playing the slot machines in Reno.
She was preceded in death by her first [sic second] husband, Richard Fata in 1968 and second [sic first] husband Paul Berger. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Fata of Puyallup and Dwight Berger of Florida; daughters Pauline Chamadias of Tacoma and Angel Watkins of Florida; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton.
