Edwin O. Berg of Sun City, AZ died on October 17, 2004. He was a resident of Danielle's Loving Care Home in Glendale, AZ at the time of his death.
Mr. Berg was born in Richville, MN on December 7, 1909. He was one of ten children born to Olaf and Inga Berg. The family moved to White Rock, SD and it was there that Edwin graduated from high school.
Edwin and Agnes Holm were married on October 17, 1937 in Sisseton, SD. Agnes passed away in January of 1994. Mr. Berg worked for 38 years for the Farmers Home Administration. His work took him to Britton, Sioux Falls, Huron and Sisseton, all in South Dakota.
Eddie served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945. He served in the European campaign. He was a charter member of the American Lutheran Church in Sun City. He was a faithful member and for many years he taped the service and delivered them to the shut in members of the congregation.
Eddie was a member and past president of the Scandinavian Club, the Torsk club, the Masonic Shrine Lodge and the Organization of Retired Federal Employees.
Eddie and Agnes moved to Sun City in 1971. They moved to Camelot Gardens (now called Immanuel Gardens) in 1987. He was a founder and active supporter of the All Faith Religious Fellowship at Immanuel Gardens.
Eddie and Agnes had a very close and personal friendship with Vi Holt. She was a home aid for them all the years they lived in Sun City.
One brother, Oris, of Sun City, AZ and a host of nieces and nephews survives Edwin Berg. All who knew him will miss him.
Services for Edwin O. Berg were held at the Sunland Mortuary of Sun City on October 22, 2004. Rev. Boxrud officiated at the service. His remains will be placed beside Agnes in a niche in the columbarium at the American Lutheran Church in Sun City, AZ.
