Arthur W. Berg
Vigil service for Arthur W. Berg, 79, a lifetime Spokane-are resident, will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, N 4420 Jefferson. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Monday at the church. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park with Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Berg died Thursday at his home. Born in Spokane, he was raised in Colville and returned to Spokane in 1945. Mr. Berg was employed by Bohemian Brewery Inc. from 1947 to 1963 and then was a custodian for Spokane School district 81 from 1963 to 1976. He was a member of Spokane Eagles Aerie 2 and Sons of Norway.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 46 years, Margret E., two sons, James R. Berg of Bakersfield, Calif., and Robert V. Berg of Eugene, Ore.; one brother, Victor G. Berg of Colville; and three grandchildren.
