John Berg was my G. G. Grandfather. He was born in Sweden in 1857. He arrived in the u.s. about 1888. He married Mina "minnie" (surname unknown so far) born in April 1862 in Norway. She arrived about 1890. They were married in 1895 and lived in Bock, Mille Lacs County, MN. They had six Berg children: Marten , Oscar D., Ida V., Nelly . B., Clara L., and my G. Grandmother Vivian Adele Berg (Geisenhoff) 1902-1993. She in turn had six children. Her oldest child Jean V. Geisenhoff was my Grandmother. John and Minnie made up a language mixing Swedish and Norwegian words together to better communicate with each other. Vivian told me this as a child. (submitted by spiralpipedream5)
